Due Diligence and Eternal Vigilence

Diligence or Vigilance act as the keys by which we measure worthiness and value when it comes to bringing products to market. The US Library of Congress's UPTSO says about one particular invention, the Moon Boot:
"The speed with which the exhibit was put together has been unfavorably contrasted with the USPTO’s standard review schedule for patent and trademark examination." -- source
Anyone who has tried jumping through the necessary hoops between proof of concept and monetary reward for their service knows what a PITA this process has become. Protecting an idea from vulture capitalists and lawyers is at the top of my list of frustrations connected to our government here in the U.S. of A.

Take Michael Jackson's "Moonboots" idea: Even though the idea originated in Italy in the early 1970s,[1] Michael Jackson applied to patent his own version much later. Now the whole deal is coming to the public in the form of an exhibit for the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Museum.[2]

My second book, Creative Capital: Enterprise with a Conscience, will focus on the entire prospectus of gaining ground in the world of ideas including a description and discussion of the serpents upon which we must tread on our way to the sides of the pit of unknown advantage. My idea, your plan, their gain, under whose authority constitutes the quadratic frame for this eventual progress in the struggle between mind and matter.

What matters most to me is not how much money we're all going to make, or even how long its all going to take. The question is: Who's going to get one and what shall they do with it?
